Eastern Ascent is an experience of persistently increasing tension interspersed with moments of respite culminating in awe and grandeur. The 2nd movement of Shostakovitch’s 7th symphony played a large role in the inspiring the overall structure of the piece. The score is transposed but is keyless, as are the parts. Difficulty level is grade 4+.
